Four Eagles Drafted on Day 2 of the 2026 NHL Draft

Two second round picks highlighted the day for the Eagles
BUFFALO, N.Y. – Four future members of the Boston College men's hockey program were selected on the second day of the NHL Draft on Saturday at the KeyBank Center, home of the Buffalo Sabres.
Casey Mutryn was the first Eagle to be picked on the second day of the draft, going 38th overall to the Seattle Kraken. Rudolfs Berzkalns was also selected in the second round, going 58th overall to the Edmonton Oilers. Olivers Murnieks went to the Buffalo Sabres in the fourth round with the 124th overall pick. The Boston Bruins selected goaltender Roberto Henriquez in the sixth round with the 170th overall pick.
Mutryn has spent the last two seasons playing for the U.S. National Team Development Program. In 2025-26, he skated in 62 games for the Under-18 team, posting 18 goals and 28 assists for 46 points. He also represented the United States at the IIHF Under-18 Men's World Championship in April where he appeared in five games and tallied five points on two goals and three assists.
Berzkalns has been skating with the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the USHL for the last two seasons, appearing in 91 regular season games, posting 33 points on 18 goals and 15 assists. He has 10 points in 16 career Clark Cup Playoff games. Berzkalns has also represented Latvia at the 2025 and 2026 IIHF World Junior Championships, making 10 appearances over the two tournaments.
Murnieks skated for the Saint John Sea Dogs of the OMJHL in 2025-26, appearing in 31 games and posting seven goals and 13 assists for 20 points. He has represented Latvia on several occasions this year, including appearing in the World Junior Championship for the second-straight year. In May, he became the youngest player to ever play for Latvia at the Men's World Championship.
Henriquez appeared in 37 games during the 2025-26 regular season for the Green Bay Gamblers in the USHL, posting a 21-9-4 record with a 2.22 goals against average and a .921 save percentage. He made two appearances in the postseason and finished with a 2.01 goals against average and a .897 save percentage.
Boston College ended with five players being drafted after Oscar Hemming was selected on Friday night by the Columbus Blue Jackets with the 14th overall pick. The Eagles extended their record of the 31 consecutive drafts with a selection, tying Michigan for the longest streak in college hockey history.
