BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Senior Blake Butera went 2-for-4 and was hit by a pitch, increasing his career hits total to 203, which is ninth in BC record books. He also set a new BC record for career at bats with 766 and moved to tie for third all-time with 28 hit by pitches.
- Sophomore Michael Strem knocked in a run in the first with his 20th double of the year, which is tied for sixth in BC record book and is now tied for first in the ACC.
- Junior Joe Cronin returned after missing five games due to injury to go 2-for-3 with his fourth home run of the season and his ninth double of the year.
- Freshman Jake Palomaki singled in the seventh, extending his on-base streak to 35 games and his career-long hit streak to nine games.
- Freshman Donovan Casey recorded his first career triple to score a run in the fourth inning.
- Redshirt junior RHP Geoffrey Murphy threw 1.2 scoreless innings of relief, allowing just one hit to extend his scoreless pitching streak to the last four outing, eight innings overall.
- Junior Logan Hoggarth doubled in the fourth, notching at least one in the last six games and 15 of the last 19.
- The Irish held a one-run lead going into the fourth and tallied three runs to go up, 7-3.
- When the Eagles pulled to three on Cronin's solo home run, Robert Youngdahl launched a three-run shot in the ninth to keep Notre Dame on top by six.
- The Irish was the first to get on the board, scoring two runs in the first. After he struck out the first batter of the game, sophomore right-handed starter Mike King gave up a single up the middle to Kyle Fiala and hit Ryan Bull to put two on. The runners moved up on an errant throw to second on a pick-off attempt by King and Ryan Lidge plated the first run with a grounder to second. Youngdahl tripled off the wall in center to bring in Bull.
- The Eagles cut the lead in half in the bottom of the inning. Butera was hit by a pitch with one down and Strem drove him in with a double to the corner in left.
- Notre Dame scored two in the fourth to go up, 4-1. Zak Kutsulis led off with a solo shot over the right-center fence and Jake Shepski followed with a base hit to center. King settled in and got the next two batters looking before Fiala laced one to right. Right fielder Casey made a diving attempt, but could not come up with the ball, allowing Shepski, who moved to second on a wild pitch, to score.
- The Eagles answered with two in the bottom of the inning to make it a one-run game again. Hoggarth led off with a double to right and sophomore Johnny Adams moved him to third with a sac bunt. Casey drove him in with a triple to right and he scored when sophomore Nick Sciortino singled.
- The Irish took a four-run lead in the fifth plating three in the fifth. Bull and Lidge tallied back-to-back singles to start the inning and with one out, Lane Richards hit a liner past third baseman Palomaki to score a run. Murphy entered the game and gave up a single to Kutsulis to score Lidge. Murphy got Shepski to ground out to short for the second out, but it scored the seventh Notre Dame run.
- Cronin got BC a run back in the seventh with a lead-off solo shot over the right-center fence.
- Redshirt junior LHP Tyler Hinchliffe got through his first two innings of relief unscathed, but allowed two one-out walks and a three-run blast to Youngdahl to give Notre Dame the 10-4 advance. Senior LHP Travis Ferrick entered and got a liner and fly ball to end the inning.

- King gave up a season-high 10 hits and seven runs in his final start of the season.
- This is the 18th time this season the Eagles registered at least 10 hits and the eighth time they have lost when doing so.
- In his first trip back to The Heights since having the head coaching job for the Eagles, Mik Aoki earned the victory in Chestnut Hill.
