#2 Lacrosse Hosts #5 Virginia Saturday

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - No. 2 Boston College (10-0, 4-0 ACC) hosts No. 5/7 Virginia (7-4, 1-2 ACC) to take on the Cavaliers on Saturday, March 28 at 1 p.m. The Eagles look to extend their undefeated streak to 11 games against UVA.
Team Records
The No. 2 Boston College Eagles are undefeated at 10-0 on the season heading into Saturday's matchup against the Cavaliers. The Eagles have downed five ranked opponents this season. BC recently defeated No. 2/3 UNC in a thrilling 10-9 overtime victory on March 21. The Eagles also downed the No. 12 Louisville Cardinals in overtime (March 12) and No. 14 Notre Dame (March 7). BC also recorded a 10-9 upset over No. 2/3 Syracuse in their ACC opener (Feb. 28) as well as beating No. 18/17 Johns Hopkins, 9-5, in their season opener (Feb. 14). Boston College is a perfect 4-0 in ACC play.
No. 5/7 UVA is 7-4 after a 16-6 win over William & Mary (Mar. 25). The Cavaliers downed No. 6/4 Duke, 13-10, at home on Mar. 21.  The Cavaliers have also overcome No. 9 Penn State, No. 12 James Madison, and No. 10 Princeton while suffering tough losses to No. 16 Loyola Maryland, No. 2 North Carolina, No. 3 Syracuse, and No. 5 Northwestern.  The Cavaliers are 1-2 in the ACC.
Team Leaders
Senior attacker Covie Stanwick and junior midfielder Caroline Margolis lead the Eagles with 41 points each.  Stanwick has notched 28 goals and 13 assists so far this season. Margolis has scored 24 goals and recorded a team-high 17 assists.  Senior midfielder Mikaela Rix is tied for 12th in the nation with 31 goals this season.  Rix was named ACC Offensive Player of the Week this week, along with goaltender Zoe Ochoa for Defensive player of the Week, for their efforts in defeating UNC.
Senior attacker Casey Blocket leads the Cavaliers' offense with 40 points on 21 goals and a team-high 19 assists through 11 games.  Senior attacker Liza Blue is second on the team with 37 points on a team-high 27 goals and 10 assists.

The Last Meeting & History
Last season, Boston College fell to Virginia, 16-14, at Klockner Stadium on April 11, 2014.  Covie Stanwick notched a game-high six points and Mikaela Rix contributed five points in the loss.
BC is 2-11 against UVA in the all-time series.  The Eagles' most recent victory came in 2013, when BC defeated UVA 10-7 in the Red Bandanna Game on Mar. 30.
