Game Highlights
- Senior Alexa Coulombe, redshirt junior Kailey Edwards and junior Emilee Daley combined for 15 points, six rebounds, eight assists and six steals off the bench to lead Boston College past UMass Lowell, 66-55, at Conte Forum on Sunday afternoon.
- Freshman Mariella Fasoula led the Eagles with 12 points while r-junior Kailey Edwards had 10 points and four assists.
- Senior Alexa Coulombe turned the game around with energy in the third quarter, as she finished with four rebounds, three blocks and three assists.
- Junior Emilee Daley finished with five points and four steals in 18 minutes of action.
TURNING POINT
- BC outscored Lowell, 18-4, in the third quarter to pull away.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lowell ran off six straight points to end the quarter for a 16-14 lead over the Eagles in the first quarter. BC shot 50 percent from the floor but had six turnovers.
- The Eagles opened the first five minutes of the quarter with a 10-5 run and just one turnover to take a 24-21 lead. Lowell would hold BC to just two points in the final five minutes to take a 30-26 lead at the half.
- Boston College didn't get the halftime message so a minute in, Coach Erik Johnson subbed out the starting five. Kailey Edwards sparked a 7-0 run with five points, including a three-pointer at 5:56 to give BC a 33-30 lead. The Eagles held Lowell scoreless until the 42 second to play in the quarter – BC 43, Lowell 32.
- After one foul shot by Katie Quandt, Lowell scored two more but the Eagles led, 44-32, at the end of the third quarter.
- Boston College opened the fourth quarter on a 9-0 run to go up, 53-34. Asia Mitchell-Owens hit a three at 6:52 to stop the Eagles run. The teams exchanged baskets but the Eagles held the lead for the win.
