BC HOSTS MAINE SUNDAY EVENING
• Boston College returns home to host Maine on Sunday evening at 5 p.m. inside Conte Forum.
• The game will be streamed on ESPN3 and can be heard on the radio on WEEI 850 AM and bceagles.com.
• Boston College started the season 3-0 for the first time since 2008, but has dropped each of its last six outings.
• BC holds a 15-4 record in 19 all-time meetings against Maine. The Eagles won last season, 85-74, in Conte Forum.
• The Eagles lost at #15/18 Providence on Wednesday night, 66-51.
• Maine has lost its last three games, including a 79-69 home loss to Dartmouth on Wednesday.
COMEBACK FALLS SHORT AT #15/18 PROVIDENCE
• Graduate student Eli Carter finished with a team-high 15 points while adding five rebounds as Boston College lost at #15/18 Providence on Wednesday night, 66-51.
• Freshman Jerome Robinson was the other player in double figures with 10 points. He also had three assists.
• Senior Dennis Clifford recorded nine points and eight rebounds.
• Providence started the game with a 12-2 run over the first seven minutes.
• The lead reached 17 points, 21-4, at the 10:31 point of the half.
• The Friars took a 37-23 lead into the locker room.
• Boston College scored the first six points of the second half and that turned into a 14-4 run to cut the deficit to 41-37 eight minutes in.
• That is as close as the Eagles would get as the Friars pushed the lead back to double digits with five minutes left in the game.
LAST TIME vs. MAINE
• Boston College had five players score in double figures, led by Aaron Brown with 21, as it beat Maine, 85-74, on December 11, 2014.
• Brown was 8-for-16 from the floor.
• Dennis Clifford recorded a career-high 19 points to go along with seven rebounds, three blocks and two steals. He was 9-for-11 from the free throw line which were also career highs.
• Dimitri Batten had 12 points and four assists while Olivier Hanlan had 10 points and six assists.
• Patrick Heckmann notched 13 points and four steals.
• Boston College opened the game on a 17-8 run over the first 5:35. Brown hit a couple of 3-pointers in that span.
• Maine cut the lead to six points three times, including at 25-19, with 8:23 left in the half.
• From there, the Eagles went on a 13-4 run to build a 38-23 with 3:42 on the clock.
• The Black Bears trimmed the lead down to eight points before the half, 42-34.
• Maine cut its deficit to 59-53 with the help of a 9-2 run, but BC responded with a 7-2 run of its own to push the lead back to 66-55 with 8:57 left.
• The Black Bears scored six unanswered points a couple of minutes later to cut the deficit down to 73-68, but BC scored the next five points to pull away for good.
