BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Junior Kelly Hughes finished with 17 points, five rebounds while hitting 4-for-4 from free throw line.
- BC got 23 points and nine rebounds off the bench. Junior Emilee Daley pitched in with 11 points and four rebounds, and freshman Mariella Fasoula added 12 points and five rebounds as both played key roles in the Eagles pulling away in the third period.
- Senior Nicole Boudreau finished with seven points and eight rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Boston College's offense struggled as the Eagles committed six turnovers in the half. BC took a, 13-11, lead on a three-pointer by Nicole Boudreau with 18 seconds to play in the period.
- Both teams continued the throw the ball away as neither offense could get going. BC shot 35% in the half while Holy Cross was just 33.3%. Mariella Fasoula and Katie Quandt led BC at the half in scoring with eight and six points respectively. Holy Cross had Katie Doherty and Tricia Byrne with seven points apiece.
- The two teams exchanged shots in the first five minutes of the half. Two straight three's by Holy Cross cut the BC lead to one, 32-31. Â BC finished the period with a 9-4 run to take a, 42-36 lead. Emilee Daley and Kelly Hughes hit long three's in the run.
- The Eagles' opened the fourth period with an 11-5 behind five points from Emilee Daley and a long-three from Hughes. BC's lead grew to 15 but Holy Cross shot back with a 10-2 run. BC held a 56-48 lead with just 3:46 to play. A Boudreau back door pass to Hughes stopped the Holy Cross run and the Eagles had a 58-51 lead with under two minutes to play.
