December 19, 2014 | Baseball
Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Boston College freshman right-hander Kyle Dunster was drafted in the 38th round by the New York Mets in the 2014 First-Year Players Draft. He earned First-Team All-FCIAC, First-Team All-State, MSG Valley All-Region and Connecticut All-Star Team accolades as a senior at Greenwich High School. As a senior captain, he went 5-2 with a 1.75 ERA, tallied one shutout and recorded 50 strikeouts. Dunster also batted .309 with 11 runs, 17 hits, four RBIs, two triples and two home runs.
Dunster is the youngest in a family in which all five members played a varsity sport in college. The righty sat down with Amanda Irvine to talk about what it felt like to be drafted, growing up in a competitive household, his decision to come to Boston College and some of his favorite things.
