Solier recognized as the national shortstop of the week
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Boston College baseball sophomore shortstop Julio Solier was named the Brooks Wallace Award Player of the Week, given to the nation's top shortstop, as announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.

The Puerto Rico native batted 8-for-14 over three games this past week, including hitting his first career home run, a three-run shot to right field, in Saturday's 16-1 win over Notre Dame. He extended his hitting streak to five games while playing error-free defense.

Solier and the No. 20 Eagles are back in action tonight at UMass Lowell. The road stretch continues this weekend with a trip to Clemson for a three-games series against the Tigers.
