No. 20 Eagles Travel to Clemson for Final Road Series of the Year

The two teams will meet for the first time since 2024
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — No. 20 Boston College Baseball travels to South Carolina this weekend for a three-game league series against the Clemson Tigers. The series begins Friday at 6:00 p.m. on ACCNX. Saturday's game is slated for 1:00 p.m. on ACCN before the series finale on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. on ACCNX.
Record vs Clemson
Boston College is 11-48 all-time against Clemson with a 5-25 road record. The two teams last met during the 2024 season down in South Carolina, where the Tigers took all three games.
The Eagles are looking to end a five-game losing streak against the Tigers and earn their first win in the series since a 3-1 victory on April 28, 2023, at Harrington Athletics Village.
Scouting the Tigers
Clemson is 26-19 overall on the season with a 6-15 ACC record. The Tigers are currently on a three-game losing streak after dropping all three games to Louisville this past weekend. Clemson boasts a 17-7 home record this year, including a 13-7 victory over then No. 3 Georgia Tech.
Nate Savoie leads the Tigers in batting average (.348), runs (44), hits (62), RBI (47), and is second in home runs with 15. Jacob Jarrell has a team-high 16 home runs, good for second in the ACC. Michael Sharman has 11 starts on the mound for Clemson and boasts a 5-1 record with a 3.05 ERA and 58 strikeouts. Aidan Knaak leads the Tigers and is fourth in the ACC in strikeouts with 74.
The Matchups
On Friday, A.J. Colarusso and Dane Moehler will face off to begin the series. Colarusso is 4-2 this year in 11 starts. He has an ERA of 3.95 to go with 46 strikeouts. In his last start, he went 4.1 innings with one strikeout while allowing six earned runs. Moehler is yet to earn a decision in seven starts. He has posted an ERA of 4.91 and 14 strikeouts. His last start came at Louisville, where he went two innings, allowing two hits and two earned runs with three strikeouts.Â
Saturday will feature Brady Miller against Michael Sharman. Miller has started nine games this year and has a 2-0 record. Through 45.1 innings of work, he has 47 strikeouts, which leads the Eagles. In his last start, Miller picked up his second win of the year after throwing 5.2 innings with just a run allowed and six strikeouts as BC defeated Notre Dame, 16-1. Sharman is 5-1 in 11 starts and 62 innings this year. He has a 3.05 ERA to go with 58 strikeouts. He last started against Florida State, where he went 5.1 innings, striking out three while allowing four earned runs.Â
On Sunday, Tyler Mudd and Aidan Knaak will start in the finale. Mudd has made 11 starts this season with a 3-3 record. Over 48.2 innings pitched, Mudd has 28 strikeouts and a 4.62 ERA. In his last start, Mudd had 3.2 innings of work against Notre Dame in the finale, where he allowed three earned runs while striking out two. Knaak is 2-5 in 10 starts this year. He has thrown 47 innings while striking out 74, and has an ERA of 4.98. His last outing was four innings against Louisville, where he gave up two earned runs while striking out four.Â
Last Time Out
The Eagles traveled to Notre Dame for an ACC series against the Fighting Irish this past weekend. BC dropped the first game of the series before bouncing back to win the next two.
The momentum carried into a midweek non-conference 7-6 victory over UMass Lowell on Tuesday evening. Ty Mainolfi went 4-for-5 at the plate with one triple and one RBI. Gunnar Johnson and Colin Larson each hit a double for the Eagles.
Chase Hartsell picked up the win after allowing just one hit over two innings while striking out three batters. Sean Hard retired the side in the bottom of the ninth inning to earn the save.

The Eagles are off from league play next weekend, but host NJIT for a three-game series at Harrington Athletics Village. Saturday, May 9, will feature a doubleheader beginning at 4:00 p.m., followed by a lone game on Sunday at 1:00 p.m., and all three games will air live on ACCNX.
