CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College lacrosse squad will host Hofstra in the Eagles' home opener on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 1 p.m.

Boston College Notes
• BC is currently 1-1 on the season after falling to No. 12/12 Syracuse, 23-12, on Feb. 21.
• The Eagles moved up two spots in the latest deBeer women's media poll. BC is now ranked at No. 8, according to the first poll of the 2012 regular season. Boston College is also ranked No. 13 in the preseason poll from the IWLCA, which will release its first regular-season poll on Feb. 27.
• Freshmen Covie Stanwick and Mikaela Rix have started strong in 2012. The duo led BC at Syracuse with three goals apiece on Feb. 21. Stanwick currently leads the Eagles with 10 points (5 goals, 5 assists), while Rix has a team-best seven goals through two games.
• With her two goals at Syracuse, captain Kristin Igoe currently has 124 goals and 164 points during her career at The Heights. She is just six goals and seven points away from moving into fifth place on BC’s all-time records list in those respective categories.
• Senior captain Brittany Wilton, who made the move from attack to midfield this offseason, will continue to be a threat on draws for BC after turning in a program-best 99 draw controls last year.
• Igoe and Wilton were named to the 2012 Tewaaraton Award watch list according to an announcement made on Feb. 15.
Scouting Hofstra
• Hofstra is currently 1-1 overall in 2012 after its first week of games. The Pride defeated Colgate, 9-8, in the team’s season opener on Feb. 19, before falling to Fairfield, 12-8, on Feb. 22.
• The Pride returns eight starters from the 2011 squad that went 6-10.
• After leading the team with 37 goals last season, junior midfielder Jill Maier leads Hofstra’s offensive effort once again with four goals so far in 2012.
• Senior goalie Jaclyn Pandolf was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Player of the Week on Feb. 20 after registering 16 saves against Colgate.
Series History
• The all-time series between Boston College and Hofstra is currently tied, 4-4.
• If BC should win Saturday’s game, they would take the lead in the all-time series for the first time since 1994.
• The Eagles have won the last two meetings against the Pride, including a 14-9 road victory on Feb. 16, 2011.
