Home games vs. Northwestern from the Big Ten, UMass, NC State and a Thursday night nationally televised battle with Florida State highlight the 2011 Boston College football schedule, which was released Monday. Nine of the Eagles' 12 opponents played in postseason bowl games last season and five (Virginia Tech/16, Florida State/17, UCF/21, Maryland/23 and NC State/25) finished the 2010 season ranked in the Associated Press Top 25.
The Eagles will open the 2011 season on September 3 in a home game vs. Big Ten opponent Northwestern, which finished the 2010 season with a 7-6 record and an appearance in the Ticketcity Bowl.
