Lacrosse Defeats Iona 19-8

New Rochelle, N.Y. - The Boston College women's lacrosse team bounced back with victory of the weekend, defeating Iona College 19-8.
The Eagles bounced back after a loss to Fairfield with the win to improve to 4-1 on the season. Eleven different members of the team netted goals for the Eagles in the victory.
Senior Jenna McCabe led the BC charge with 4 goals followed by fellow senior Maura Mahoney with three tallies.
BC opened with game with a four goal run before Iona managed to get on the board, but the Eagles followed the Gaels lone tally with another five goal run and closed out the first half leading 11-3.
In the second half the teams traded goals back and forth but the Eagles never gave up the lead.
Katie Monaghan made 11 saves in the victory.
The Eagles will host Brown University on Wednesday March 11, in their home opener at 4 p.m. The game will be played to raise awareness of the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation which helps children with brain tumors.
