Men's Cross Country Finished Third

Amherst, Mass. - The Boston College Eagles men's cross country team competed at the UMass Invitational on Saturday in Amherst, Mass. The team finished third overall with a score of 52, finished behind the UMass Minutemen and Maine Black Bears in the 8k (5.1 mile race). UMass finished with 31 points, while Maine finished second with 47 points.
Five Eagles placed in the top 16 in the race and were led by junior Jeff Klatsky, who placed seventh overall, finishing the course in 26:00. Junior Josh Springer and freshman Jordan Peeples, who competed in his first collegiate race, placed eighth and ninth respectively. Springer crossed in 26:02, while Peeples finished in 26:03. Freshman Michael Sainato, also competing in his first college race, 12th with a time of 26:09. Senior captain Stephen Walsh placed 16th, crossing in 26:23.
Boston College men's cross country will race again next weekend at the Iona Meet of Champions at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, N.Y.
