Men's Cross Country Takes Second at New England Championships

Boston, Mass. - Boston College men's cross country finished second at the New England Championships against 44 other schools at Franklin Park in Boston. The Eagles finished with 145 points, trailing only Umass-Lowell (76 points). Brown (166 points), Connecticut College (173 points), and Quinnipiac (177 points) rounded out the top five. 45 colleges and universities and over 300 runners competed in the race.
The Eagles were led by sophomore Cory Ahern, who placed sixth overall with a time of 24:54. Junior Jeff Klatsky crossed next for 19th place in 25:18. Finishing in 38th was sophomore James LaGreca, who crossed in 25:31. Sophomore Tim Ritchie and junior Adam Moitoso rounded out the top five for Boston College. Ritchie placed 40th , crossing in 25:31, while Moitoso was 42nd with a time of 25:32.
Senior co-captain Stephen placed 57th, finishing in 25:43, while freshman Michael Sainato crossed in 27:01.
Runners Mark Alizzi, Patrick Mellea, David Emerson, Dan Springer, Josh Springer and Jordan Peeples did not compete in the race, but will run next week at the Pre-National meet in Terre Haute, Indiana on Saturday, October 14.
