Terre Haute, Ind. - The Boston College men's cross country team finished 30th at the Pre-National Meet hosted by Indiana State University. The Eagles competed in the 8k meet against some of the best teams in the nation on Saturday afternoon. Boston College finished with 706 points. Iona won the meet with 100 points, while Stanford (106 points), Florida (217 points), Notre Dame (255 points) and Iowa (270 points) rounded out the top five at the meet.
Boston College was led by junior Patrick Mellea, who placed 32nd overall with a time of 24:10.2. Sophomore Tim Ritchie was the next Boston College runner to cross with a time of 25:09.7. Senior Mark Alizzi, sophomore David Emerson and freshman Jordan Peeples rounded out the top five runners for the Eagles. Alizzi crossed in 25:11.5, Emerson finished the course in 25:45.7, and Peeples had a time of 25:47.0
Boston College men's cross country will next compete on Sunday, October 22nd at Franklin Park when the Eagles race in the Mayor's Cup. The meet is schedule for noon.
