Baseball Sweeps Doubleheader From Navy

The Boston College baseball team scored 22 runs on Saturday, sweeping a doubleheader from Navy in Annapolis, Md. Senior Mike Flynn was 5-for-8 with five RBIs and Jared Mcguire also had five hits to lead the offensive barrage.
The Eagles (10-5) had 19 hits in their 13-1 victory in the first game. They won game two, 9-3, pounding out 11 more hits in the win. BC has now had 10 or more hits in a game eight times this season and the team is batting .308 on the year.
Senior lefthander Mike Wlodarczyk struck out nine Midshipmen in five innings of work, cruising to his third victory of the season. Wlodarczyk (3-1) scattered six hits and surrendered one earned run to lead BC. Nick Asselin earned his first save of the season, tossing four scoreless innings in relief.
The Eagles trailed 1-0 through the first three innings, but broke it open with seven runs on seven hits in the top of the fourth. Shawn McGill had an RBI double and Drew Locke ripped a run-scoring single during the rally.
BC scored two runs in three of the next five innings.
In the seven-inning second game, senior Joe Martinez (3-1) struck out nine in six innings of work to lead the Eagles. The righthander allowed just three hits in the win, and leads BC with 33 strikeouts this season.
With the game knotted at two entering the final inning, the Boston College bats came to life in the nick of time, chalking up seven runs on five hits in the top of the seventh to earn the victory.
Senior Marco Albano led off the inning with a double to left and later scored on McGill's pinch-hit single through the left side. McGuire added a two-run single later in the inning.
BC and Navy finish their three-game series on Sunday in Annapolis.
