
Men's Cross Country Places Third at New England Championships

Boston, Mass. - The men's cross country team placed third out of 47 teams at the New England Championship on Saturday, Oct. 8. Sophomore Patrick Mellea led the Eagles placing ninth overall. The course covered 4.95 miles.
Mellea placed ninth, placing the highest of any junior, sophomore or freshman. He clocked in with a time of 25 minutes, 25 seconds. Crossing the line next for the Eagles was junior co-captain Mark Alizzi. Alizzi crossed the finish line 30th overall in 25:51.
Freshman Tim Ritchie was 36th overall, while sophomore Drew Wiechnicki was 40th. Not far behind was junior Stephen Walsh in 42nd and senior Joe Lesniak in 59th. Rounding out the Eagles top seven runners was sophomore Josh Springer, clocking in at 27:00, for 109th.
Next up for the Eagles is the Mayor's Cup on Sunday, Oct. 23, in Boston, Mass. The course is run at Franklin Park.
