AS A JUNIOR (2005-06) Brighid "redshirted," electing to spend the Spring Semester studying abroad at the National University of Ireland (Galway). AS A SOPHOMORE (2004-05) (Indoor) Threw the 20-lb. weight (Outdoor) Marquess broke the Boston College record for the Women's Javelin at the UConn Invitational, with a throw of 38.85 meters. The prior record stood for ten years. Marquess also medaled in the Javelin at the 2005 Big East Championships; finished 1st at the University of New Hampshire Invitational, 2nd at the Northeastern University's Solomon Husky Invitational, 2nd at the University of Connecticut Select Invitational; and 9th at the New England Championships. AS A FRESHMAN (2003-04)
(Outdoor)Captured second place in the javelin at the UNH Invitational...also placed third at the Southern Connecticut Invitational, fourth at the Solomon Husky Invitational, sixth at the Snowflake Classic and seventh at the Wildcat Invitational...qualified for Big East Championships in the javelin. Was a team captain and All-Colonial Conference selection in three sports (basketball, soccer, track & field)...four-year varsity starter in all three sports...was an All-South Jersey selection in track & field and soccer...South Jersey champion in the javelin...earned a total of 13 varsity letters (including one as a team trainer)...New Jersey state record-holder in the javelin relay...school record-holder for the "new rules" javelin...earned fifth-place medal at the Penn Relays, and a ninth-place medal at adidas Track Nationals...member of two New Jersey State Championship Teams in track & field...named Distinguished Athlete for Class of 2003.
