As a Junior (2013-2014):Tim was a key factor in Boston College's most impressive Medley Relay team, helping to set the BC record in the 200 yard Medley Relay with a 21.99 split...Benage proved himself to be one of the Eagles best Butterfly swimmers...Tim was selected as one of 10 swimmers to travel to the ACC Championships.
As a Sophomore (2012 - 2013): Tim was selected for the BC men's ACC team for the second year in a row. Awarded the James J. Kane award for academic excellence for the fall semester for the second time. Awarded the Athletic Director's Award for Academic Achievement and made the ACC academic honor role for the second year in a row. Top finisher for the Eagles in the 100 fly at ACCs (49.96).
As a Freshman (2011 - 2012): Tim was selected for the BC men's ACC team in the spring semester. Awarded the James J. Kane award for academic excellence for the fall semester. Awarded the Athletic Director's Award for Academic Achievement and made the ACC academic honor role.
Before BC: attended Chaminade College Prep in St. Louis Missouri... Swam varsity four years and served as captain senior year... Placed fifth in the 100 yard butterfly Junior year... third in the 100 yard butterfly senior year at the Missouri State High School Championship meet... Junior National Qualifier in the 100 meter butterfly... Scholastic All-American for the 2010- 2011 school year
Personal: From St. Louis, MO... The son of Dave and Joanie Benage... the youngest of 3 boys... One of his brothers graduated from DePaul in 2009 and the other is currently in school at SMU... During the high school off season, Tim swims for the CSP Tideriders.
