As a Sophomore (2013-2014): C finaled in the 100 yard freestyle, 200 yard freestyle and 500 yard freestyle... Went lifetime bests in each wtih a 48.75, a 1:46.57 and a 4:56.66 respectively... Swam in the C relay in the 800 freestyle relay which placed 8th... An MCL tear cut his season short.
As a Freshman (2012-2013): Although marred by a number of injuries, Ryan's freshman swim season still saw a respectable amount of success. Sticking to sprint and middle-distance freestyle events, Ryan attained personal bests in the 100 freestyle (49.54), 200 freestyle (1:47.80), and the 500 freestyle (5:01.76). Additionally, Ryan ran a personal best 5k time at the Brian Honan 5k in the fall in 16:39.
BEFORE BC: Attended Mira Costa High School...lettered all four years and was 2012 Varsity Team Captain...Reached 2012 CIF's in 100 and 200 free, 200 free relay and 400 free relay.
PERSONAL: Ryan is from Manhattan Beach, CA...the son of Marc and Patricia Reede...swims for Swim Torrance Club Team...competes for Triathlon Team TTS Juniors...sister Casey (20) is a D1 Tennis player at UC Santa Barbara...was a 4-time Medalist at the 2011 Junior Lifeguard Nationals in Cape May, NJ...enjoys photography, filmmaking, open water swimming, cycling, and triathlons.
