As a SOPHOMORE (2013-2014): Totaled 20 first places (13 individual, 7 relays) and scored a total of 172.5 points during the dual meet season... Maureen set three BC SCM records during the dual meet season in 50 free, 100 free, and the 200 free relay... was one of the Outstanding Performers at the Terrier Invite where she placed 2nd in the 50 free, 3rd in the 100 free, 4th in the medley relays and 4th and 3rd in the 200 and 400 free relays... Maureen was a
member of the 2014 ACC Championship Team... achieved several lifetime bests while setting four BC Records at the meet - the 50 free (23.29), the 100 free (twice 51.02 & 50.82), the 200 medley relay (11th place with Maddie Mailliard, Samantha Couillard and Jordan Parry - 1:46.09) and the 400 freestyle relay (11th place with Emily Downs, Annie Fothergill and Maddie Mailliard - 3:27.05)...Maureen was named the Most Valuable Performer for the Eagles 2014 season... Maureen was also awarded the Harold M Groden MD Award for the Outstanding Performance of the season (along with Grace Kunkel, Emily Downs and Maddie Mailliard) as part of the winning freestyle relay in the
Maine meet.
AS A FRESHMAN (2012-2013): Totaled 14 first places (individual and relays) in the dual meet season... At the Terrier Invite placed 3rd in 50 free, 6th in 100 free, 4th in medley relays, and 3rd and 4th in the 200 and 400 free relays... Participant in 2013 ACC Championship in the 50 and 100 free... Maureen was part of 8th place finish and three 9th place finishes in medley and freestyle relays. Earned 2012-2013 Athletic Director's Award for Academic Achievement.
BEFORE BC- Attended Fenwick High School in Oak Park, IL. All-American and All-State 2009-2011 seasons. State Champion and state record holder in 200 Medley relay and 400 Freestyle relay. State champion in 200 free relay. Finished fourth at the 2011 Illinois state meet in 50 free. Also holds school records in three relays. High school team captain 2011 season. Swims for Westmont Swim Club. Team record holder in 50 free and two relays. USA swimming scholastic All-American.
PERSONAL: Lives in Darien, IL a suburb of Chicago. Daughter of Mike and Mary Beth Barron. Has three older siblings- Meghan, Danny, and Brian and one younger sister, Colleen. All siblings swim and/or play water polo. Maureen plays water polo as well.
