AS A SENIOR (2014-2015): Kelly was a recipient of the Athletic Director’s Award for Academic Achievement and was named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll… Achieved personal a best time in the 200 fly (2:10.31) and turned in the Eagle’s top finish in the 400 IM at the Terrier Invitational…was selected to represent BC at the Atlantic Coast Championships in Atlanta, Georgia where she swam the 200 IM, 400 IM and 200 butterfly … was selected to represent Boston College Athletics in the program, Coach For College, to teach and coach in rural Vietnam… concluded her career with the Eagles scoring a total of 365 points.
AS A JUNIOR (2013-2014): Kelly was the recipient of the Mary Pawlak Coaches Award for the 2013-2014 season...was named Outstanding Performer at the Terrier Invitational and posted the Eagles fastest and personal best times in the 200 IM (2:09.32), 400 IM (4:31.61), 500 freestyle (5:04.06) and 1650 freestyle (17:23.48) ...selected to represent BC at the 2014 Atlantic Coast Championships where she posted personal best times in the 200 freestyle (1:56.97) and 100 butterfly (58.93) and was the Eagles top finisher in the 200 IM and 400 IM...Kelly broke the BC school record in the 400 Meter IM at the Providence duel meet in February which earned an outstanding performance on the women's side.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2012-2013): Kelly was a recipient of the James J. Kane Academic Award for fall semester… Earned 2012-2013 Athletic Director’s Award for Academic Achievement… Turned in three personal best times at the Terrier Invitational and posted the Eagle’s fastest times in the 200 and 400 individual medley and second fastest times in the 500 freestyle and 1650 freestyle… Selected to represent BC at the 2013 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships where she swam the 500 freestyle, 200 butterfly and 400 individual medley and achieved two personal best times … finaled in the 400 IM and was the Eagle’s top finisher (4:33.12) for 20th place.
AS A FRESHMAN (2011-2012): Kelly competed in distance freestyle and IM events throughout the season at home and travel meets… Was named one of the outstanding performers for distance events against University of Maine and Florida Gulf Coast University…. Achieved college best times in all events at the Terrier Invitational… Selected to represent BC at the 2012 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships where she swam the 200 yard freestyle, 500 yard freestyle and 400 individual medley.
BEFORE BC: Attended Garden City High School... lettered 6 years.... Team Captain senior year... All County 2005-2010... All Long Island 2009-2010... New York State Championship Sportsmanship Award for Nassau County senior year... Team has won county championship past 12 years... Sectional Qualifier 2009-2011... USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.
PERSONAL: Kelly is from Garden City, NY... daughter of Peter and Diane McGrath... has one sister, Deirdre who is a freshman swimmer at Fordham University... Kelly swims for club team Long Island Express.
