Chris Morgan comes to Boston College with a resume that boasts development and success at all levels of swimming. His philosophy has always been to give a vision of how to succeed to every individual he works with and help them understand that the drive must come from within. He is incredibly humbled to be part of Boston College and looks forward to having an environment of challenge and fun together!
Chris arrives (as many families may know) after most recently guiding a large New England team over the past ten years. Prior to that, Chris served as the Women’s Assistant at Harvard. (Our Princeton Tigers on staff do their best to ignore this part.) Chris spent 15 years in Switzerland, progressing from Head club coach, to National Team member, to Head Coach of multiple International Championships including the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China. Chris started his coaching career in California (1992-1997) where he worked with clubs and high schools (including his Alma mater Los Altos high school) and most significantly his coaching at Stanford University under legendary coach Richard Quick.
Chris graduated from the University of California at Davis with a B.S. in Biological Sciences. During his time in Switzerland he completed his M.S. in Sports Science with an emphasis in Human Movement. And, during the Covid pandemic, Chris continued to show his desire in education and self-development by pursuing a PhD in Exercise Science. Chris hopes that showing his athletes his own desire to learn will also promote an “education first” attitude to all the athletes.
Chris feels his most important fortune in his life is his wife NOK. They live in the North Shore and enjoy canoeing and antique shopping together.
