Tim Homan enters his second season as an assistant coach with the Boston College softball program. Â
Homan helped the Eagles increase their win total for a second straight season, while helping multiple Eagles post career highs at the plate. Nicole Giery hit a personal-best .302 with 51 career hits and 21 RBI.Â
"We are super excited to welcome Tim to our Boston College softball family," said Kvilhaug. Â "He is an eager and ambitious coach who brings extensive experience to our program. Tim's major responsibilities will include overseeing team offense and serving as our recruiting coordinator. He has well-established recruiting connections and understands the landscape of recruiting high level talent, both on the field and in the classroom."
In seven years of collegiate coaching at four different programs, three players have won conference player of the year honors and numerous players earned postseason awards.
"Tim has a history of making improvements on the hitting side with each program he's worked for," Kvilhaug added. Â "We are looking forward to Tim's expertise in helping to bring our program to the next level."
Homan spent four years as the hitting coach and recruiting coordinator for the Big Green from 2019-22. Last season, he helped develop Billie McFadyen into the Ivy League Player of the Year after finishing among the league leaders in hits, triples, RBI, total bases, batting, runs, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, and stolen bases. Under Homan's tutelage, five Dartmouth players earned All-Ivy League recognition, while McFadyen earned NFCA All-Northeast Region Honors.
Prior to Dartmouth, Homan spent three seasons at Georgia Southern from 2017-19. In 2018, the Eagles tied the school record in home runs in 2018 before breaking that mark the following season. In his three years with Georgia Southern, six different players earned postseason recognition.
Homan coached at Penn for one season in 2017, where the Quakers finished in the top three in the Ivy League in batting average, on-base percentage, hits and runs. Leah Allen was named the Ivy League Player of the Year and four other players were recognized by the league in Homan's lone season in Philadelphia. Before arriving at Penn, Homan was a volunteer assistant coach at Villanova from 2016-17. He helped the Wildcats to a second-place finish in the Big East and coached the Big East Pitcher of the Year.
Homan began his collegiate coaching career at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. He started coaching at Cumberland Regional H.S. before heading to King's Academy in Florida, where he helped guide the team to a conference, district, and regional championship in 2014.
Homan is a 2013 graduate of Palm Beach Atlantic University and earned his master's degree from Southern New Hampshire in 2017.
