Parker Showers started at BC in the winter of 2020 as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. He came to the Heights after serving as the associate director of strength and conditioning for football at Mississippi State during the 2019 season.
Showers started his career as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Villanova in August of 2013, working with men’s lacrosse and football. In addition, he was directly in charge of programming and training for track & field, swimming & diving, softball, water polo, cheer and tennis.
In May 2014, Showers began working as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach with the University of Akron football team. In that position, he assisted in all facets of strength, speed, agility, injury prevention, and conditioning during the annual training cycle.
Showers joined the University of Cincinnati strength and conditioning staff in August 2015 as an assistant strength and conditioning Coach. During his tenure at UC, Showers was elevated to associate director for football performance in addition to serving at the head strength coach for tennis, men’s soccer and cheer. During his time here he was part of two postseason appearances; 2015 Hawaii Bowl, 2018 Military Bowl.
After serving the previous four years (2015-19) on the strength and conditioning staff at the University of Cincinnati, Showers ventured south to join the football strength and conditioning staff at Mississippi State where the bulldogs concluded their season with a game in the 2019 Music City Bowl.
Showers is a 2013 graduate of Lycoming College and attained a Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Akron in 2015.
He is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS) in addition to the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (SCCC). He resides in Boston with his wife Amy and daughter Teagan.
