No. 22 Baseball Set to Host Maine

Eagles will play Black Bears for second time in three weeks
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — No. 22 Boston College Baseball will host Maine on Tuesday for a midweek non-conference game. First pitch at Harrington Athletics Village is set for 3:00 p.m. on ACCNX.

Boston College is 12-17 all-time against the Black Bears with a 12-14 record at home. The Eagles picked up a 7-4 win over Maine when the teams met at Harrington Athletics Village at the end of March.
Scouting the Black Bears
Maine is 11-24 overall this season with a 7-5 record in America East play. The Black Bears have won six of their last eight games, including a series win over NJIT this past weekend, taking two of three from them. Juju Stevens leads the way at the plate for Maine with a .331 batting average and a team-high 44 hits. Troy Carpenter boasts 10 home runs and is leading the team in RBI with 35.
On the mound, Gianni Gambardella and Jason Kreiger have pitched 50+ innings this season and have combined to allow 122 hits with 76 runs allowed.
Last Time Out
The Eagles picked up their second league sweep of the season, defeating Duke in all three games this past weekend. Boston College opened the series with an 11-1 win over the Blue Devils on Friday afternoon. After inclement weather turned the final two games into a doubleheader on Saturday, the Eagles took care of business with 4-2 and 14-6 wins.Â
In Friday's victory, the Eagles stole a program record 14 bases, including tying the NCAA record for most in an inning with eight during the second. A.J. Colarusso etched his name into the record book when he made his 44th career start, the most in program history.
