Shea Dolce & Shea Baker Selected by Boston Guard in WLL Draft

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Sheas are staying in Boston! The Boston Guard selected Shea Dolce with the No. 2 pick and Shea Baker with the seventh pick in the inaugural Women's Lacrosse League College Draft on Wednesday evening.
The two defensive stalwarts for BC will reunite with the Boston Guard, who already feature BC alums Charlotte North, Rachel Clark, Kenzie Kent, Cassidy Weeks, Rachel Hall, Dempsey Arsenault, and Courtney Taylor.
Dolce was the first goalie taken off the board. The senior is ranked second all-time in program history with 613 saves, a career .482 save percentage, and 129 ground balls. The Darien, Conn. native has put in a stellar career, where she is a three-time All-American, ACC Freshman of the Year, Â ACC Tournament MVP, Â back-to-back ACC Goalie of the Year, IWLCA Goalie of the Year, and a Tewaaraton Finalist. Dolce has helped the Eagles win a national championship in 2024 and a pair of ACC titles in 2023 and 2024, while she has 62 wins in the cage. She will play with Team USA this summer in Tokyo in the World Lacrosse Championship.
Baker was third defender taken in the draft. For her career, has caused 86 turnovers, 89 ground balls, and 161 draw controls with 20 goals and nine assists. The senior defender was named the ACC Defender of the Year last season and was a consensus All-American. Baker was named to the Top 25 Tewaaraton Watch List, while she was the only player in the country to post at least 40 caused turnovers, 35 ground balls, and 95 draw controls. Baker leads the team this season with 23 caused turnovers and 22 ground balls. The two-time captain will play with the U.S. Senior National Team this summer in Tokyo in the World Lacrosse World Championship.
The tandem and the Eagles will conclude the regular season on Thursday against No. 4 Syracuse at 5:30 p.m. on ESPNU.
