Salem, Va. - The Boston College softball team (8-14) defeated James Madison 7-6 before they fell 8-2 to Penn State on the second day of the Hokie Invitational at the James Moyer Sports Complex.

Game 1 - BC 7 | JMU 6

Emma Knight got the bats rolling for the Eagles in the first inning with an RBI single to right field before JMU would add three during their first at bat.

Adriana Martinez didn't let the lead last long with a two run homer over the left field fence to tie the game at 3-3.

A double in the third from Abby Ptak added a runner for Meghan Schouten to hit around to take the lead.

JMU added the pressure back on the Eagles with a three run fourth inning, but BC wouldn't stand for it. With two runners on base, Schouten placed one over the fence to take the final lead at 7-6 as each team was held scoreless through the end of the game.

Game 2 - BC 2 | PSU 8

In the second game of the night for the Eagles, Penn State got on the board early holding a 5-0 lead till the fifth inning.

At the bottom of the fifth, Nicole Riddell and Kae DePerio each had singles and advanced around the bases. Knight beat out a throw in the infield that scored both runners for two RBI.

PSU would score again before Knight would send a solo shot over the fence to end the game 8-3 in favor of Penn State.
