Eagles Open Hokie Invite with Loss to Michigan

Salem, Va. - The Boston College softball team (7-13) dropped the opening game of the Hokie Invitational 7-1 to Michigan at the James Moyer Sports Complex.
The Wolverines started with a 3-0 lead after the first inning, but Janis Espinoza responded with a solo shot over the left field fence in the second to cut the lead to 3-1.
In the third inning, Bailey Kendziorski snagged a line drive right back at her in the circle then turned to double off the runner at first.
The Eagles had a total of eight hits but were unable to overcome the Wolverines who took the game 7-1.
