James Hagens Signs ATO with the Boston Bruins

Hagens was the seventh overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft
BOSTON – Boston College sophomore forward James Hagens has signed an AHL amateur tryout agreement (ATO) with the National Hockey League's (NHL) Boston Bruins, as announced by the organization on Monday evening. Hagens will join the Providence Bruins, the AHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins.
Hagens was selected seventh overall by the Bruins in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.
The Hauppauge, New York native finished 2025-26 as Boston College's leading scorer with 47 points on 23 goals and 24 assists, while also leading the league in points and goals. He was named a Hobey Baker Top 10 Finalist following the conclusion of the regular season after sitting fifth in the country for goals and seventh in points per game.
In league play, Hagens finished with 28 points on 13 goals and 15 assists, earning Hockey East First Team All-Star honors along with earning the Three Stars Award and finishing as the league's scoring champion.
Over his two seasons on the Heights, Hagens skated in 71 games and finished with 84 points on 34 goals and 50 assists.
Hagens also competed with the United States at the IIHF World Junior Championship the last two years, helping lead the U.S. to gold in 2025.
