Eagles Prepare to Take on Northeastern and Merrimack

BC will travel to the Huskies and host the Warriors
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Boston College Baseball will travel to Northeastern and host Merrimack in a pair of non-conference midweek games. The first pitch for the matchup with the Huskies is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on March 24th. The game with the Warriors will be at 3:00 p.m. The Northeastern game will stream live on FloCollege, and the Warriors contest will be streamed on ACCNX.
Record vs Northeastern
Boston College is 62-41-1 all-time against the Huskies and 20-15-1 at Friedman Diamond. The Eagles split their two meetings last year, winning at home but falling in the Beanpot first round at Northeastern. Boston College won 6-0 at home behind five scoreless innings from Brady Miller. Gunnar Johnson paced the Eagles with two RBI that day as Boston College scored all its runs before the sixth inning. The Eagles were shut out on the road in their loss last season.
Record vs Merrimack
Boston College is 4-1 overall against the Warriors, with all five contests coming at home. The Eagles won the lone meeting last season, 10-5. Eric Schroeder earned the win after throwing 3.1 innings in relief. Kyle Wolff led the offense with five RBI, including a three-run shot in the bottom of the eighth.
Scouting the Huskies
The Huskies are 12-9 entering the Tuesday matchup and took two of three over the weekend from Elon. They are led at the plate by Cooper Tarantino, Harrison Feinberg, and Eric Cha, who all hit over .300, with Tarantino the leader at .333. Feinberg leads Northeastern in RBI with 19 as the Huskies have players with double digit RBI. On the mound, they have four pitchers with over 20 innings thrown so far this season. Northeastern has three pitchers with sub-3.00 ERA including Luc Rising, who leads the team in strikeouts with 25.
Scouting the Warriors
Merrimack will play host to UMass Lowell on Tuesday before traveling to Chestnut Hill. The Warriors dropped two of three at the weekend to Canisius with their lone win coming on Friday, 4-2. Merrimack has three players hitting over .300 with Joey Frammartino leading the way at .361. Greg Cristino leads the Warriors in RBI with 18 as Merrimack has seven players with double digit RBI this season. On the mound, the Warriors have four players with ERA under 3.00 including Colby Barker, who is 5-0 with a 0.35 ERA in 25.2 innings of work.
Last Time Out
Boston College swept their weekend series against Cal, including a 3-2 walk-off win on Sunday in 11 innings. Danny Surowiec, Nick Wang, and Ty Mainolfi all paced the Eagles offense, with Surowiec and Mainolfi each having four RBI, while Wang was 4-9; all three received recognition from D1 baseball for their performances. On the mound, the pitching staff combined to allow just seven earned runs over 29 innings. Brady Miller pitched six innings of two-run ball on Sunday, but wasn't charged with either run. Over the course of the week, BC went 11-14 on stolen bases, including three on Sunday in the finale from Mainolfi, Colin Larson, and Julio Solier.
