New England Patriots Promote Vinny DePalma to Inside Linebackers Coach

Former Eagles linebacker spent last two seasons in Foxborough as a defensive assistant
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced their coaching staff for the 2026-27 season, featuring former Eagles linebacker Vinny DePalma as Inside Linebackers Coach.Â
The two-time captain on The Heights spent the last two years as a Defensive Assistant with the Patriots. In 2025, he handled many of the defensive responsibilities while then-Inside Linebackers Coach Zak Kuhr was the de facto DC with Assistant Head Coach Terrell Williams away from the team.Â
DePalma played at Boston College from 2018-23, where he totaled 277 tackles, including 18.5 for loss, four forced fumbles, two-and-a-half sacks and two fumble recoveries. He notched All-ACC Honorable Mention and Swede Nelson Award honors from the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston in 2022, and All-ACC Third-Team and Boston College's Scanlan Award honors as a graduate student in 2023.Â
DePalma earned a bachelor's degree in leadership and management as well as a master's degree in sports administration during his time at Boston College.Â
