Lacrosse Downs Harvard at Home

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College lacrosse dealt Harvard a 15-5 defeat on Thursday evening at Alumni Stadium.
The Eagles have now won four of their last five games, improving to 4-4, while the Crimson fall to 1-5.
Shea Dolce made eight saves and posted a season-high .615 save percentage, moving past Katie Monaghan (2006-09) into second place all-time in program history with 572 career saves. Dolce also contributed a team-high five ground balls.
Offensively, the Eagles were balanced, with seven players scoring and three earning hat tricks. Marissa White recorded three goals and an assist for four points, while Molly Driscoll added two goals and two assists. Giulia Colarusso had a hat trick and led the team with five draw controls, and Hanna Davis tallied three points (two goals, one assist). Kylee Colbert netted three goals, and her sister Casey Colbert tied for the team lead with two assists.
Avery Hudson led a defense that posted eight caused turnovers, tallying two herself. She also had two ground balls and a goal.
Boston College jumped out to a fast start, opening the game with a 7-0 first quarter. Davis found Colarusso for the first goal, sparking the run, followed by three more from White and K. Colbert to give BC a 4-0 lead with 8:32 left in the quarter. Colarusso capped off the first-quarter scoring to make it 7-0.
Davis scored early in the second frame to extend the lead to 8-0. The defense held Harvard scoreless for the first 26:57 of the contest until Harvard scored with 3:03 left in the half. Â BC led by no less than seven goals after Caroline Chisholm answered Harvard's score in the third period. The Eagles ultimately pulled away in the second half, extending their lead to as much as 10 goals.
Boston College returns to action Saturday at 12 p.m. against Pitt in the Red Bandanna Game.
