BC Falls After Late Rally at UNC

Chapel Hill, N.C. - The Boston College softball team (5-12, ACC 0-2) dropped a 5-4 game against the University of North Carolina (17-0, ACC 2-0) on Saturday afternoon.
UNC started with a 2-0 lead after the first inning that was held till the top of the fourth. The inning started with a single into shallow left field from Abby Ptak and a double from Meghan Schouten to put runners at second and third. Ptak took home off an infield slap from Tavye Borders, beating out the throw to remain no outs. Nicole Riddell then brought in the next two runners to take a 3-2 lead.
Each team added a run in the fifth. BC's came from a pair of doubles from Ptak and Schouten.
Going into the seventh tied at four a piece, the Tar Heels were able to hold off the Eagles offense and add the final run of the game for another walk off on the weekend.

- Abby Ptak extended her hitting streak to 14 games
- Sammy Horn is on a six game hitting streak
- Meghan Schouten has reached base in 11 consecutive games
