Fencing Prepares to Host NFC Championships

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College Fencing will host the rescheduled 2026 Northeast Fencing Conference Championships on Saturday, Feb. 27, beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the Margot Connell Rec Center.
The Eagles will face seven schools from across the Northeast as they look to defend the title they won last season.
Last Year's NFC Championships
The Men's team earned a perfect 7-0 record at the two-day championship meet last year, while the Women's team compiled a 10-1 record. The Eagles won the Northeast Fencing Conference Championship on the Men's side and also earned the combined Men's and Women's championship with a 17-1 total record.
Highlights from last year's men's competition included Ryan Ho earning his 100th career win at Boston College. Head Coach Brendan Doris-Pierce reached 200 wins with the Eagles. Men's Foil and Epee earned perfect 7-0 records, while Men's Sabre had a 6-1 record. Men's Epee had a 9-0 record, including victories over Wheaton and MIT, to help lead BC to team victories over both opponents, as the Eagles finished first overall.
On the women's side, Anisha Kundu and Artemis Christeas both earned their 100th career win at Boston College over the weekend. The Eagles earned a 10-1 record, including 24-3 victories over Wellesley, Sacred Heart, and Vassar, and a 25-2 win over Wheaton. Women's Foil had three 9-0 wins, giving them a 10-1 record throughout the weekend. Women's Epee had a 9-2 record, and fought to two 9-0 victories. Women's Sabre compiled an 8-3 record, while earning four 9-0 victories to help the Women's team finish in second place.
Last Time Out
Boston College last competed in the ACC tournament, where the men's team finished second after falling in a tiebreaker to Duke, while the women finished fifth. The Eagles had two fencers earn bronze, with Lukas Eichhorn and Lydia Johnson both coming in third in the saber. Eichhorn won bronze after defeating Gabriel Babayev in the third-place match. Laura Fekete also earned her 100th win at Boston College over the weekend.
