No. 12 Eagles Down No. 10 UConn in Overtime
February 21, 2026 | Men's Hockey
HARTFORD, Conn. – The No. 12/13 Boston College men's hockey team scored just 27 seconds into overtime to pick up a 2-1 victory over No. 10/11 UConn on Saturday afternoon to complete the weekend sweep. Lukas Gustafsson and Dean Letourneaueach scored for the Eagles. Ryan Conmy, Andre Gasseau, James Hagens, and Gustafsson each tallied assists. Louka Cloutier made 21 saves between the pipes.
Boston College improves to 19-10-1 overall and 13-7-0 in Hockey East, while UConn drops to 17-9-4 overall and 11-7-2 in league play.
Both teams were held scoreless through the third period, sending the game to overtime. The Eagles wasted little time to pick up the win. Gasseau skated through the neutral zone into the offensive zone and had a great look at goal that was saved. The rebound fell to the senior, who had the time and space to find a skating Gustafsson in the slot for the one-timer to end the game.
The Huskies took a 1-0 lead midway through the opening period after Kaden Shahan scored from the slot on a 4v3 power play.
BC responded with a power play of its own late in the first period to tie the game at 1-1. Along the boards on the left side, Conmy found Letourneau in the slot where the sophomore fired home a shot into the top left corner to even up the game.
While both teams had quality looks during the second and third periods, both Cloutier and UConn goaltender Tyler Muszelik kept the teams off the scoresheet.
