
Women’s Hockey Falls to Northeastern, 3–2, in Beanpot Consolation Game

Taber scores twice; Campbell makes 54 saves at TD Garden
BOSTON, Mass. – Boston College struck first and rallied late, but Northeastern held on for a 3–2 victory in the Beanpot Consolation Game Tuesday afternoon at TD Garden.
The Eagles opened the scoring at 16:46 of the first period when Sammy Taber found the back of the net unassisted to give BC a 1–0 lead. Northeastern answered less than two minutes later, tying the game at 18:32, and the teams went into the first intermission even.
Northeastern took its first lead late in the second period, scoring at 17:59 to make it 2-1 heading into the final frame. The Huskies extended their advantage at 12:21 of the third, pushing the margin to 3-1.
Boston College pulled within one in the final minute. With an empty net and extra man advantage, Taber scored her second goal of the afternoon at 19:58, finishing a setup from Ava Thomas and Emma Conner, but the Eagles were unable to complete the comeback.
Senior goaltender Grace Campbell turned in a strong performance, making 54 saves as Northeastern held a 57–29 advantage in shots on goal. Taber led the Eagles offensively with two goals, while Conner recorded an assist and three blocked shots.
