
Eagles Set for Season-Opening Invitational in Iona

BC Faces NJIT in Season Opener
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College volleyball team opens up the 2025 campaign at the Iona Invitational competing against New Jersey Institute of Technology and Stonehill Friday, and Iona Saturday. The season opener is scheduled for noon on Aug. 29 against NJIT in New Rochelle, New York.
The Eagles take on NJIT at noon Friday, August 29 followed by Stonehill at 6:00 p.m. Saturday's match will be at 4:00 p.m. All games will be played in the Hynes Athletic Center in New Rochelle, N.Y.
Coming off of a 15-17 2024 season, Boston College starts the 32-match season in New York for the Iona Invitational. The Eagles return graduate middle blocker Cornelia Roach. Roach posted 102 blocks averaging 0.87 per set. Junior outside hitter Audrey Ross returns as she helped to lead the underclassmen charge in kills last season posting 372, averaging 3.07 per set. Sophomore setter Aubrey Moore led the freshman class last season posting 387 assists, averaging 4.35 per set and tallying 27 service aces. Junior libero/defensive specialist Brooklyn Yelland tallied 340 digs last season, leading the Eagles with 2.83 per set.
Inside the Match-Up
The Eagles meet NJIT, Stonehill and Iona for the Iona Invitational. The season opener will be the second time in series history NJIT and BC meet, following a 3-0 sweep by the Eagles in 2011. Also meeting for the second time in series history, the Eagles hold a 1-0 record over Stonehill.
Class of '29
The 2025 volleyball roster showcases 12 underclassmen, including five new freshmen in the class of 2029. The incoming class includes two liberos; Ali Natt and Savannah Curtis, outside hitter; Sofija Marjanovic, setter; Milly Wolf, and middle blocker; Bella Ehrlich.

Season Openers
The Eagles have compiled a 18-16 record on opening day. BC has won seven of its last 10 season openers, most recently featuring a sweep over Texas Tech. Boston College is 24-11 all-time in its home opener.
