Women's Soccer Drops Road Contest to Illinois

CHAMPAIGN, IL — The Boston College women's soccer team lost to Illinois 1-0 on Monday evening in their first road match of the season.
With this result, the Eagles' record drops to 2-1-1, while Illinois improves to 3-0-0.
In the first half, both teams had their opportunities, but neither was able to score, leaving the halftime score at 0-0.
During the second half, junior goalkeeper Olivia Shippee made crucial back-to-back saves just five minutes in. However, in the 58th minute, the Fighting Illini scored the only goal of the match.
Milla Lee had a chance to put away the equalizer after her shot was blocked; she was able to get the rebound, but her second shot was saved by Izzy Lee.
Three Eagles managed to get shots on goal, with Ashley Robert leading the team with two shots, one of which was on target.
