News and Notes from Day 16 of Training Camp
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- On a cool, late August Tuesday morning, the Eagles took to the practice fields outside Fish Field House for their sixteenth Training Camp session of the summer.
Practice began with three of the best words in sports: One-on-one. With wide receivers versus defensive backs and offensive linemen versus defensive lineman, today's practice had firepower and energy from the opening snap.Â
It was the offense that was clicking on all cylinders early, with the quarterbacks completing ball after ball to their receivers and tight ends in compact throwing lanes throughout the initial competitive team periods. Veteran Lewis Bond shined after several receptions on various route combinations. Fellow wide receiver Luke McLaughlin was another name that refused to let the ball hit the ground.Â
After practice, Head Coach Bill O'Brien and defensive back Isaiah Farris met with the media.Â
"We're getting better every day. By the time the season opens up, we'll be ready, relative to the first game of the season. We'll continue to strive to improve," said O'Brien.Â
As the offense controlled several of the early practice periods, the defense closed on a high note. Linebacker Jason Hewlett Jr. and defensive back Omar Thornton recorded a pair of interceptions, followed by a series of tackles for loss from veteran linebacker Daveon Crouch and defensive lineman Edwin Kolenge. Defensive back Isaiah Farris shared his excitement for the upcoming season with the guys around him.Â
"We have a great group. The coaches give us great stuff to use on the field. It's going to be a fun year."Â
The Eagles practice next on Wednesday morning, as the final week of 2025 Training Camp rolls on. Practices are closed to the public.Â
