Zoe Hines hit her fifth home run of the season in the first inning, a new career high
Stanford jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning behind a two-RBI double, but the Eagles took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the inning thanks to three-run home run from Zoe Hines, her fifth of the season.Â
Jordan Stephens extended the lead to two runs in the bottom of the third with a sacrifice fly, but the Cardinal reclaimed the lead with a big top of the fifth, making the score 6-4. In the bottom of the inning, Kali Case narrowed the deficit to one run thanks to an RBI single, and Abby Ptak gave the Eagles their second lead of the game when she hit a two-RBI double to left field, putting BC up 7-6.
The visitors tied things up in the top of the seventh inning and added another in the top of the eighth inning to take an 8-7 lead. BC was unable to mount a comeback in the bottom of the inning, handing the Cardinal the victory. The Eagles finish the season 22-29 overall and 5-19 in the ACC.
