Eagles Battle Wildcats for Trip to Title Game

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College lacrosse faces No. 3 Northwestern on Friday at 5:30 p.m. on ESPNU inside Gillette Stadium for a trip to the national championship on Sunday.Â

Last Time Out
The Eagles earned an eighth straight trip to the NCAA Semifinals after an 18-11 win over Yale last week. BC was trailing 6-5 late in the first half until Emma LoPinto took over with five straight goals to push the Eagles to a 10-6 lead, including four goals in the final 6:44 of the second period. The run continued in the third when Morgan Smith found the back of the net, followed by three more goals from Clark, capping off a 9-0 run. The defense held Yale scoreless for over 20 minutes until the 3:45 mark of the third period. Boston College pulled away for the win, capturing a 16th straight win when hosting the NCAA Tournament. Clark led the offense with eight goals, while LoPinto registered five goals and one helper for six points. Mckenna Davis dished out six assists with one score and seven points. Shea Dolce made 12 saves with a .522 save percentage in the victory, stopping five of her shots in the fourth period.Â

Five Eagles made all-first team and one to the all-second team. It's the third time at least six Eagles were named an All-American along with ILWomen.com and USA Lacrosse Magazine.

Series History
The Eagles and Wildcats are facing each other for the third straight season during Championship Weekend, as the two have faced off in the last two national title games, splitting the two contests. BC defeated NW earlier this season in Evanston with a 13-9 triumph. Molly Driscoll and Kylee Colbert stepped up with a hat trick, while Mia Mascone recorded three points thanks to two assists and a goal.Â
