Seventh Place for Eagles at Veritex Bank Collegiate

DALLAS -- Boston College placed seventh at the Veritex Bank Collegiate. The two-day, 54-hole tournament was held April 7-8 at the Trinity Forest G.C.

The Eagles totaled 888 for the tournament, improving on their team total in each of the three rounds. BC opened the tournament on Monday with a score of 299, followed by a score of 295 during the afternoon round. On Tuesday, BC improved by one stroke, registering a team score of 294.

Angel Lin was the top finisher for BC, tying for seventh place (217). She opened tournament play with a 2-over 74, before firing a second round 71 during the afternoon session. Lin played a stellar back nine during that second round, carding six pars and three birdies. She closed out play with an even-par 72 on Tuesday. It was her third top 10 finish of the spring and fourth of the year.

Emily Böhrer tied for 21st place (222), registering an opening round 74 followed by a second round 75. Her best round of the tournament came on Tuesday, with a 1-over par 73. She was stellar on the back nine during the final round, going 2-under (34). For the tournament, she registered nine birdies.

Ana Lucia Trevino tied for 26th place (224), one stroke behind Böhrer. After carding a score of 77 during the opening 18 holes of competition, Trevino posted a 1-over 73 during the afternoon round. The freshman registered five birdies on the day. She finished with a 74 on Tuesday, posting four more birdies.

Cynthia Zhang and Frances Kim tied for 39th place (228). Zhang posted scores of 75 and 76 before closing out with a final round 77. Frances Kim registered an opening round 76 and a second round 77, before registering her best round of the tournament - a final day 75. Sritha Vemuri, competing as an individual, tied for 65th place (82-79-77=238).
