Rowing Closes Lake Wheeler Day 2

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Boston College rowing team closed out the weekend posting strong performances through two days at Lake Wheeler in North Carolina this weekend.
The morning was partly cloudy with flat conditions. High of 77F, winds SW 13 mph. Round 3 began with 3v8+ races on Lake Wheeler Saturday morning.
The Third Varsity 8+ got the Eagles started in the third event of Round 3. Coxed by Chloe Reisinger with rowers Josie Hohenrieder, Jill Reichenbach, Olivia Hankey, Ella Davis, Charlotte Cochener, Reagan Rock, Eva Kelliher and Molly Welch, they finished the course with a first place time of 7:07.050, just over six seconds behind first place North Carolina. The Eagles finished nearly eight seconds ahead of Georgetown and over 10 seconds ahead of Kansas.
The Second Varsity 4+, coxed by Kendra Schmidt with rowers Chloe Wilkinson, Ruby Barnett, Neave Anderson and Jo McTamney, recorded a time of 7:54.241, finishing less than 10 seconds behind Navy and just 11 seconds behind Tulsa. North Carolina recorded a first place time of 7:23.235.
The First Varsity 4+, coxed by Lucy Fortner with rowers Quinn Baker, Amelia Sanger, Elizabeth Cobb and Claire Piacentini finished the course with a time of 7:43.703, just eight seconds behind Georgetown and nearly nine seconds behind Tulsa. The Eagles finished two seconds ahead of Kansa. North Carolina posted a first place time of 7:22.095.
The Second Varsity 8+, a team of coxswain Caroline Jennings, and rowers Sierra Ross, Brooke Picazio, Leighton Smith, Jennie Sherwood, Lauren Craven, Leighton Davis, Erin Smith and Kirsten Thorn posted a time of 6:44.272, recording a second place finish. The Eagles finished less than six seconds behind first place North Carolina. BC's finish placed them above Tulsa, Georgetown, Kansas and Navy.
The Varsity 8+, coxed by Madelyn Stevens with rowers Lauren Schramm, Rachele Papineau, Lauren Bauer, Lucy Barratt, Lauren Meath, Molly Devine, Grace Yi and Callaghan Nickerson, finished the course in a time of 6:42.659, just one second behind Georgetown and less than three seconds behind Kansas. The Eagles' finished seven seconds behind Navy and 12 behind Tulsa. North Carolina posted a first place time of 6:29.543
