BC continues ACC play next weekend at Virginia
BERKELEY, Calif. – Boston College softball (10-8) fell to the California Golden Bears (18-4) in the series finale at Levine-Fricke Field on Sunday afternoon, by a score of 4-3.Â
Both teams were scoreless through two innings, before Hannah Slike got the Eagles on the board with an RBI single that scored Janis Espinoza. The Golden Bears evened the score in the bottom of the inning off an RBI single of their own.Â
In the top of the fourth, Makenna Segal hit her first home run of the season over the left field wall to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead. Later in the inning, Kali Case singled, scoring Espinoza again, putting BC up by two.
In the bottom of the fourth, Cal narrowed the gap with a home run to bring the game within one, and in the fifth inning, added two more on a two-RBI single, making it 4-3. The Eagles weren't able to come back, handing them the loss.
On deck: BC continues ACC play next weekend as they head to Charlottesville, Va. for a three-game series. The first two games will be streamed live on the ACC Network Extra, while Sunday's series finale will be live on the ACC Network.
