Cavaliers Best Eagles 3-1 in Charlottesville

BC will play tomorrow at 1 p.m. and Sunday at 6 p.m.
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Boston College softball (10-9) fell to the University of Virginia Cavaliers by a score of 3-1 on Friday evening. This was the first game of a three-game series that will be played this weekend.
Both teams were scoreless through three innings, before UVA catcher Sydney Hartgrove hit a solo home run to put the Hoos up 1-0. The Eagles would answer in the bottom of the inning thanks to a solo shot over the center field wall from Janis Espinoza, her first home run in a BC jersey.Â
The Cavaliers took the advantage again in the bottom of the sixth after Macee Eaton hit a two-run home run to give UVA the 3-1 lead. Boston College was unable to add another run in the top of the seventh, giving the Cavaliers the victory.
On deck: BC will take on UVA tomorrow at 1 p.m. for the second game of the series. The final game of the series is scheduled for Sunday at 6 p.m.Â
