
Lacrosse Downs No.5 Stanford with 17-9 Win

STANFORD, Calif. - Boston College lacrosse earned a hard-fought 17-9 win over No. 5 Stanford on Saturday afternoon at Cagan Stadium.
The Eagles improve to 12-0 and 5-0 in ACC play, upping their win streak to 20 straight games.
Abbey Herod carded a career-high 12 draw controls, leading a draw team that held a 19-11 advantage.
Mckenna Davis tied a career-high with eight points, dished out a season-high seven assists, and scored one goal. Emma LoPinto tied a season-best with six goals, one assist, and seven points.
Rachel Clark scored five goals with one assist for six points, while adding four ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Boston College set the tone early in the contest, jumping out to a 6-0 lead in the first 7:37. LoPinto led the charge as she carded a first-quarter hat trick. Stanford scored two straight before Davis found Elizabeth Kirk to make the score 7-2 at the end of the first.
The Cardinal sliced the gap to four after a 4-2 spurt in the second period.
Clark and LoPinto stopped the run, as the duo combined to score the next six goals, a stretch that went into the third period to give the Eagles a 15-5 score. Davis' lone goal gave BC its largest lead of the game at 11.
BC's defense dominated the third period, shutting out the Cardinal and limiting them to just one shot. Boston College cruised to the win, earning the triumph to snap the Cardinal's 20-game home win streak dating back to 2023.Â
The Eagles recorded nine caused turnovers, a season-best 21 ground balls, and held Stanford to a season-low in goals.
Lydia Colasante and Shea Baker tied for the team lead with two caused turnovers. Shea Dolce registered seven saves in the victory as well.
BC returns to action next Saturday against Pitt at noon in Alumni Stadium for the annual Red Bandanna Game.
