
Stephens' Four RBIs Power Eagles Past Bulldogs

BC's home opener is this weekend vs. NC State
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Boston College softball (11-12) defeated the Bryant University Bulldogs (7-14) by a score of 9-2 on Wednesday afternoon, snapping a seven-game skid.
The Eagles got on the board in the second inning after Zoe Hines and Janis Espinoza pulled off a double steal, which was followed by RBI singles from Abby Ptak and Meghan Schouten to make it 3-0.Â
BC would go on to add three more runs in the top of the fourth as Emma Jackson knocked in a two-RBI double, followed by Jordan Stephens driving in her first of four RBIs with a single. Bryant got on the board in the bottom of the fifth, making the score 6-2.
In the top of the sixth, the Eagles extended the league to seven after Stephens hit a monster three-run home run over the left field wall, her fourth of the season. On the day, she recorded four hits and four RBIs, both of which are season highs.
In the circle, freshman Bailey Kendziorski tossed four scoreless innings, recording six strikeouts, while only giving up five hits and walking none. Shannon MacLeod pitched the final three innings of the game, giving up two runs, both unearned.Â
On deck: After 23 games on the road, Boston College will have their home opener this weekend as they take on NC State in a three game series. The games are scheduled for Friday at 3:00 p.m., Saturday at 1:00 p.m., and Sunday at 12:00 p.m. Saturday's game is BC's Cerebral Palsy awareness game, while Sunday's will serve as the Eagles4Equality game. All games will be streamed on ESPN+.
