Series Opener Goes to No. 5 Florida State

Eagles and Seminoles will play doubleheader on Saturday starting at 1:00 p.m.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Boston College Baseball (7-7, 2-2 ACC) fell 8-2 to No. 5 Florida State (16-1, 1-0 ACC) in game one of the series on Friday night.
Florida State struck first on a solo home run in the second inning, followed by a wild pitch to take a 2-0 lead after two. The Seminoles doubled their lead in the third on a two-run home run.
The Eagles got one back in the fourth, with Vince Cimini reaching on a two-out double, and his steal of third base forcing a throw into the outfield to get BC on the board. FSU responded with two in the sixth, and one in the seventh to take a 7-1 lead into the eighth inning. The Eagles made it 8-2 in the final inning on a pinch-hit RBI single from Beck Milner.
Vince Cimini extended his hitting streak to 13 games, going 3-for-4 with a double. Bobby Chicoine took the loss for BC (0-2) with Joey Volini getting the win for Florida State (5-0).
The Eagles and Seminoles will wrap up the series on Saturday with a two-game doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m. ET.
