ACC Play Continues at No. 5 Florida State

Eagles will open road series against Seminoles on Friday night
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Boston College Baseball (7-6, 2-1 ACC) will face No. 5 Florida State (15-1, 0-0 ACC) in the Eagles' second conference series of the season, after taking two of three at No. 9 Virginia last weekend, and defeating Merrimack 10-5 in the home opener this past Tuesday at Boston College.Â
The Eagles are 12-42 against the Seminoles all-time, most recently taking one of three against No. 14 FSU at BC last season, with the Eagles' Cameron Leary delivering a walk-off home run in the 11th inning of game two on April 6, 2024. The Eagles won the series in their last trip to Tallahassee, taking two of three in March 2023. BC is 8-19 all-time at FSU. In 2024, Nick Wang went 2-for-4 with an RBI double in game one. In BC's game two win, Wang went 3-for-5 with a triple. Eric Schroeder threw the final four innings in BC's win, allowing two earned runs on four hits. In 2023, Kyle Wolff logged a pinch-hit home run in game one, and Vince Cimini reached base safely in all three games.Â
Boston College is 7-6 after 13 games in '25, most recently taking two of three at No. 9 UVA, their first series win against UVA since 2016, and their first road series win at UVA in program history. BC took game one and three against UVA, carried by two dominant relief outings from A.J. Colarusso, a 7-for-12 weekend at the plate from Jack Toomey, and four shutout innings in the rubber match from Joey Ryan. The Eagles are in the midst of their second of three consecutive conference weekends against 2024 Omaha teams, with FSU this weekend and UNC next weekend. BC ranks second in the ACC in stolen bases (38-42), and leads the league in sacrifice bunts (9). Toomey leads the team in AVG/SLG (.383/.596). Kyle Wolff hit his team-leading 4th HR of the season this past Tuesday. Joey Ryan leads the staff in ERA (2.92), saves (2), and strikeouts (17), having emerged as a force in relief. Infielder Vince Cimini is currently riding a 12-game hitting streak, second on the team in AVG and RBI, and tied for the team-lead in hits.
Bobby Chicoine is slated to start game one for BC, with Tyler Mudd in line for the game two start.Â
The series at Florida State is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Friday, 2:00 on Saturday, and 12:00 on Sunday. All games will be aired on ACC Network Extra.Â
